Global studies and many commodity producers and brands agree on the need to transform food/commodity production and landscape management to more sustainable and inclusive approaches. This session at GLF Bonn 2020 will discuss opportunities and constraints around bridging gaps in policy, practice and financing for sustainable value chains. The session will introduce the GEF7-funded Food Systems, Land Use and Restoration (FOLUR) Impact Program as a key partnership to advance work on these issues. With leaders from private and public sector, the panel will explore these questions: How is an integrative program focused on agricultural value chains aligned to protect our common home and respond to global crises like climate change and COVID-19? How do we bridge the financing and performance gap between global commitments and positive action on the ground? How do we leverage private sector commitments to increase investment in sustainable and equitable value chains?

Originally titled “Greening food systems: accelerating the transition to environmental sustainability”, this session hosted by the World Bank aired on June 5th, 2020 at the GLF Bonn Digital Conference.
