Are you engaged in the management of natural resources for (agricultural) production purposes, or for conservation? Then you have most likely noticed that competition within the landscape over natural resources such as water, land, resources and even clean air has drastically increased. Stakeholder groups each depend on these natural resources in different ways which results into different perspectives on how to manage and use these resources. Within this course, we adopt a landscape approach in which we aim to understand these complex conflicts. If this applies to your working context as resource manager, policy-maker, scientist, practitioner, private sector or civil society representative then you may want to upgrade your knowledge and skills on conflict management of natural resources.
This two-week training in the Netherlands, including a field visit, provides a mix of sharing new knowledge, analytical tools, and skill development such as conflict analysis skills, negotiation, mediation and facilitation of multi-stakeholder processes. With an international group of fellow professionals, you will jointly find innovative ways on how to manage trade-offs at landscape level and contribute to sustainable natural resources management.
