Women in Brazilian Agribusiness Value Chains brings a gender analysis of Brazil’s key agriculture value chains (cocoa, coffee, soy, sugarcane, citrus and livestock), identifying specific challenges and opportunities for women in this sector. Drawing on desk research, data analysis, and interviews with women across farming, cooperatives, and corporate value chains, six priority areas to ensure gender equality are explored in the report: family succession, employment and job offer, remuneration, access to resources, leadership, and representation and recognition.
Originally published by AGRI3 Fund with support from the Global Environment Facility, the report presents actionable recommendations – from inclusive procurement and financing models to leadership training and gender-disaggregated data collection – to improve Brazil’s agriculture sector by unlocking women’s potential to drive resilience and innovation.
