Meet the 2026 GLF Social Media Ambassadors – Creators, researchers, artists, journalists, innovators and Indigenous leaders sparking inclusive, knowledge-backed conversations on social media.
Bonn, Germany (12 February 2026) – The Global Landscapes Forum (GLF), a leading knowledge-led platform and community on sustainable land use, has announced the 2026 cohort of its GLF Social Media Ambassadors program, supporting 45 voices shaping the narrative on environmental action worldwide.
Through the program, influencers aged 18 to 35 will gain access to training and mentorship, participate in international events and connect with leading organizations – all while creating impactful, fact-based content for global audiences.
“This program made me believe even more that storytelling can heal, inspire hope and move people to care. I’m grateful for the friendships, the growth and the chance to stand for something bigger than myself.” — Canakya Galerita, 2025 GLF Social Media Ambassador and Head of The Forests Dialogue at the International Forestry Students’ Association (IFSA), from Indonesia.
In 2026, the program welcomes 45 new environmental storytellers selected from 1,300 applicants and hailing from 35 countries. These creators, researchers, artists, journalists, innovators and Indigenous leaders will bring a wide range of perspectives on land, climate and community in at least 13 languages.
Drawn from grassroots movements, climate action, Indigenous identity and many more backgrounds, the GLF Social Media Ambassadors to follow in 2026 come from:
📍 Africa: Botswana, Cameroon, Chad, Egypt, Ghana, Kenya, Malawi, Nigeria, Rwanda, Tanzania, Tunisia, Uganda and Zimbabwe
📍 The Americas: Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Canada, Colombia, Ecuador, Paraguay, Peru and Mexico
📍 Asia: Bangladesh, Brunei, India, Indonesia, Iraq, Malaysia, Nepal, Oman and the Philippines
📍 Europe: Portugal
📍 Oceania: New Zealand
“I believe storytelling can open people’s eyes to the real impact of climate and land issues. Coming from a marginalized community in Lagos, Nigeria, I have seen how environmental problems affect daily life. I want to use my voice to share these realities with the world.” — Zuliehat Ohunene Abdullahi, 2026 GLF Social Media Ambassador and climate and sustainability researcher, from Nigeria.
“Guided by the belief that every collective change begins with individual action, my goal as a GLF Social Media Ambassador is to translate complex issues into clear, empathetic narratives that drive critical thinking and real-world action.” — Mich Arzate, 2026 GLF Social Media Ambassador and environmental and social communicator, from Mexico.
