A new Sustainable Landscapes Rating Tool offers rapid and objective assessment of jurisdictional policy and enabling governance conditions to facilitate private and public sector investment in sustainable landscapes. This tool brings together diverse actors to assess and strengthen forest governance and also to support effective communication of governance conditions to potential investors outside the landscape. The talk will contribute to one of the core themes of the Investment Case on streamlining standards and reporting requirements to encourage the flow of private capital to sustainable land use practices. The talk will review insights from jurisdictional governments, civil society and representatives of local community/producer organisations, including those that work with women, in at least 5 countries on key elements of governance for sustainable landscapes.
