What is organic agriculture?

The four principles of organic agriculture: Health, Ecology, Fairness, and Care

Organic agriculture takes this a step further, encompassing the entire production system. With a strong emphasis on soil health, renewable resources, animal welfare, and eco-friendly practices, organic agriculture produces certified products that meet strict standards set by regulatory agencies. And, with a holistic approach to food production that prioritizes natural processes, soil health, and environmental sustainability, organic agriculture provides a wholesome and responsible choice for your table.

Organic farming and organic agriculture – two terms, one concept. While organic farming refers to the actual practices used on a farm, organic agriculture encompasses the entire production system from farm to table, including processing and marketing. Embrace the power of nature with organic farming and organic agriculture.

About GLF Bonn Digital Conference

On 3–5 June, the Global Landscapes Forum (GLF) achieved the first environmental digital knowledge commons of its kind at the GLF Bonn Digital Conference.

Nearly 5,000 participants joined from 146 countries and 6 continents to discuss how to rebuild the planet’s food systems after the coronavirus pandemic. The numbers — 300 speakers, hundreds of organizations, 235,000 engagements on social, 22,000 messages plus 2,500 articles exchanged amongst participants — highlighted the need for platforms like GLF to grow and continue including the voices of diverse knowledge holders from every corner of the world.

In this session, organic agriculture experts from IFOAM – Organic International explain the four principles of organic agriculture.
