  1. Presentation

The Global Landscapes Forum (GLF) invites members of the GLFx chapter network to apply for travel support to attend upcoming Rio Conventions COPs (UNFCCC, UNCCD, and CBD), where the GLF and the Landscape Alliance (CIFOR-ICRAF in action) will be actively engaged through its knowledge, partnerships and community-driven programming.

These global convenings are critical moments to elevate landscape, youth and local perspectives within international policy processes on climate change, land degradation and biodiversity.  This call aims to support the GLFx community in ensuring that local voices, experiences and solutions are meaningfully represented in these spaces, strengthen GLF-related engagement at COPs and facilitate the flow of knowledge back to chapters and their landscapes. The overarching goal is to advance inclusive and effective global action.

  1. What the opportunity is about

Through this call, the GLF will provide four travel grants of EUR 3,000 each to selected GLFx chapter representatives, to be distributed as follows: 2 grants for Africa, 1 grant for Latin America and the Caribbean (LAC) and 1 grant for Asia-Pacific (APAC).

Applicants must, at the time of application, either hold accreditation to a Rio Convention COP or demonstrate a strong likelihood of obtaining such accreditation.

Each grant will be transferred directly to the selected representative, who will be responsible for independently arranging their travel and related logistics, to cover eligible costs including travel (flights or other transportation), accommodation, visa-related costs and daily expenses.

Selected participants will join Rio Conventions COPs and fulfill the following:

  • Contribute to and support GLF-led, CIFOR-ICRAF-led or affiliated events and initiatives taking place at the COPs.
  • Amplify landscape-based practices, solutions and community perspectives within global discussions and policy spaces.
  • Develop a knowledge product or organize a local dissemination event after the event to ensure that insights and learnings are shared within their landscapes and communities.
  • Build and strengthen relationships with partners and stakeholders across the Rio Conventions.
  • Identify opportunities to enhance the role and visibility of GLFx chapters within global policy and action processes.
  • Translate COP insights into accessible, locally relevant knowledge for chapter members and communities.
  • Contribute to GLFx communication efforts, including stories, articles, social media content or community-facing events.
