Rio Changemakers welcomes STX Next and Bdub.digital as technical partners ahead of anticipated launch at COP31
Bonn, Germany (June 29, 2026) – The Government of Luxembourg and the Global Landscapes Forum (GLF) announced today that STX Next and Bdub.digital have joined Rio Changemakers as technical partners after a competitive selection process. Their onboarding marks a critical step toward the platform’s first minimum viable product (MVP), to be launched at the UN Climate Change Conference (COP31) in November 2026.
Rio Changemakers is an AI-enabled, science-guided global marketplace designed to connect investors and funds with high-integrity, locally-led climate, biodiversity, landscape and seascape solutions.
Launched at COP30 in November 2025, Rio Changemakers built further momentum at the Luxembourg International Climate Finance Days, where leaders from across government, finance, technology, science and project development explored how AI, trusted data and human-led decision making can help strengthen the flow of climate and nature finance.
“We have to bring back the spirit of the 1992 Rio Earth Summit and work together on all levels. The Luxembourg government has many ongoing initiatives between the private and public sector, where the co-benefits are essential – the economic, the social and the ecological. We need to strengthen the rights of local communities, Indigenous Peoples, women and children globally,” said Serge Wilmes, Minister of the Environment, Climate and Biodiversity and Minister for the Civil Service, Luxembourg.
“Across the Global South, locally-led solutions already exist. They just too often lack the visibility, the investment-readiness support and the right financing to grow. Rio Changemakers is our attempt to close that gap. With STX Next and Bdub.digital now joining us, we are moving from ambition to implementation. Their expertise will be central to building something that is practical, trustworthy and ready to be tested at COP31,” said John Colmey, Senior Strategic Advisor, GLF and Senior Director, Landscape Alliance.
As technical partners, STX Next and Bdub.digital will support the design, development and testing of the MVP, covering platform architecture, user experience, data and matching systems, governance workflows and pilot onboarding. Throughout, the platform will prioritize transparency, meaningful human-in-the-loop decision making, accessibility, data protection and the responsible use of AI.
“Rio Changemakers is not about using AI for its own sake. It is about using technology to make high-integrity local solutions more visible, understandable and investable. We are focused on building a secure and scalable MVP that can grow alongside the needs of communities, investors and partners, and be trusted by all of them,” said Łukasz Koczwara, CTO, STX Next.
“Building trust into the platform from day one is non-negotiable. Our role is to help Rio Changemakers translate a complex global challenge into a digital product that is practical, accessible and built to responsible standards,” said Bruno Wozniak, Fractional CTO, B.Dub Digital.
“A key measure of success for Rio Changemakers will be whether it is genuinely useful to the people it is designed to serve, from experienced investors to farmers and local project leaders. STX Next and Bdub.digital bring the technical expertise, user-centred design approach and shared commitment to responsible AI needed to make the platform simple, transparent and trusted from the start,” said Marina Brunale, Sustainable Finance Program Manager, GLF.
