On Tuesday, 8 September 2026, changemakers from the Restoration Stewards program in Peru, the GLFx network in Argentina and the Arhuaco Indigenous community in Colombia will share their experiences alongside investigative journalist Edilma Prada in the hands-on session “Healing territories in Latin America: stories of communities restoring the land.”
This intercultural dialogue – virtual, free and open to the public – is part of the Festival Espiral de Historias (Spiral of Stories Festival), led by the outlet Agenda Propia.
It will explore community-led restoration efforts in landscapes facing the challenges of climate crisis and extractive projects. Guided by storytellers and editors, panelists and participants will reflect on how telling these stories can generate a positive impact both within the territory and beyond.

The session is held in partnership with the Global Landscapes Forum (GLF) as part of its #MajorityForAction campaign, which highlights how climate change, biodiversity loss and land degradation are deeply connected crises for local communities – linking food, water, livelihoods, health, migration and the future of entire landscapes.
The event runs alongside three global conferences shaping worldwide decisions on climate, biodiversity and land: the UNCCD COP17, climate COP31 and biodiversity COP17.
