What if the real crisis is not a lack of solutions, but a crisis of who we recognize as a leader? This powerful session brings together women changemakers to explore leadership beyond deficit narratives to recognize the power, agency, and innovation shaping Africa’s rangelands. It examines Indigenous knowledge, women’s leadership, community-led development, participatory decision-making and intergenerational wisdom, highlighting how centering local voices and challenging inherited narratives can create more inclusive, resilient and sustainable futures for people and the planet.

The panel and participants weave together wisdom, power, land, and livelihoods to argue that real leadership is not a formal position, but diverse, interconnected, and co-created action. #GLFWomen

Are the leaders we need in the room?
