Land is not just property – for women across Africa, it is life, survival, and dignity. This session brings together grassroots women leaders from Uganda, Kenya, and Tanzania to share lived experiences of fighting for women’s land rights in pastoral and rangeland communities.

The panel explores how financing models that support women’s land rights can be designed to be more inclusive and effective in achieving both gender equality and climate goals. With the International Year of Rangelands and Pastoralists and the International Year of the Woman Farmer converging in 2026, the session issues a clear call: move from declarations to action, centre economic agency, and ensure women’s land rights remain at the heart of post-2030 development frameworks.
