22 May 2026

On 23 June, local and internationally recognized experts and innovators will convene in Piracicaba, São Paulo, and online to advance critical conversations and scale solutions toward more regenerative agricultural systems

Pecege, Brazil (22 May 2026) – The Regenerative Agriculture Forum 2026 will be hosted on 23 June in Piracicaba, São Paulo, Brazil and online. Held at the heart of the country’s agricultural science and innovation hub, it positions the region as a strategic area for discussions on the sustainable future of agriculture.

Under the theme “Accelerating the Transition,” the forum is organized by the Global Landscapes Forum (GLF), the Sustainable Agriculture Network (SAN), Imaflora and CABI.

It will bring together farmers, scientists, investors, business leaders, community organizations, public policy makers and creatives to explore practical solutions for soil regeneration, biodiversity conservation, water security, sustainable productivity and climate resilience.

“Unlike conventional agriculture, which depletes soils and relies on chemical fertilizers and pesticides, regenerative agriculture offers a more sustainable approach, promoting crop rotation, biocontrol and biofertilizers. Also, the year 2026 is especially relevant, as the ‘Super El Niño’ is expected to affect major crops such as rice, sugar and cocoa. Brazil and other Latin American countries, whose economies rely heavily on agricultural production and exports, will be central to this discussion” – Isabel Mesquita, Latin America and the Caribbean Regional Coordinator, GLF

The initiative places Latin America and the Caribbean at the center of an international agenda aimed at transforming agriculture into a driver of environmental restoration and sustainable economic development, highlighting their role in developing new regenerative models for agriculture.

The event will offer simultaneous interpretation in Portuguese, English, Spanish and French, broadening access to participants worldwide.

“Latin America holds both the challenge and the solution. Smallholders, Indigenous communities and innovative companies across this region are leading regenerative transitions that protect livelihoods and restore nature. This forum brings those voices and their proven practices to a global audience, proving that regeneration rooted in local knowledge and equity is the only way we scale lasting change.” – José Campos Arce, Chief Executive Officer, SAN

THE PROGRAM
The program includes strategic panels on impact financing, technological innovation, bioeconomy, agroforestry, women’s leadership in agriculture, social inclusion and sustainable value chains.

Highlights include a hybrid living lab, an AgroTalk Live and the development of a “Radical Collaboration Manifesto,” intended to guide global action to accelerate the transition to a regenerative economy.

Confirmed speakers include internationally recognized experts such as:

  • Elizabeth Adu, International Development Lawyer and former leader at the World Bank’s Legal Department
  • Geoffrey Hawtin, agricultural scientist and 2024 World Food Prize
  • José Roberto Postali Parra, world-renowned entomologist and Senior Professor at Escola Superior de Agricultura Luiz de Queiroz (Esalq), University of São Paulo (USP)
  • Phyllis Caldwell, on the board of the International Food Policy Research Institute (IFPRI) and former U.S. Department of Treasury
  • Ricardo Abramovay, Senior Professor at the USP, leads the National Institute of Science and Technology project on “Overcoming the triple monotony of the global food system”
  • Teresa Corção, a pioneering figure in Brazilian gastronomy and the founder of Instituto Maniva and the Ecochefs movement

“Bringing a forum of this scale to Brazil represents international recognition of the country’s ability to lead regenerative solutions for agriculture. It is a unique opportunity to connect science, markets, producers and investors around concrete strategies to accelerate the transition toward more resilient, productive and environmentally responsible systems.” – Eduardo Trevisan, ESG and Certifications Director, Imaflora
